Brynderwen Bridge, which spans the River Severn at Abermule, was designed by Thomas Penson, the County Surveyor, and constructed in 1852 to replace the wooden bridge swept away earlier that year.

Thanks to all the wonderful fund raising efforts Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust have now signed the contract to purchase Dolforwyn Woods as a nature reserve and with public access assured. This ancient woodland, in the heart of the community, will now be managed as a reserve and resource in perpetuity and popular public events such as the Family Fungus Foray will continue.
